This past weekend was totally crazy! I spent 72 hours straight eating, breathing, and dreaming of Central Soapers Workshop, an annual soap making conference in the midwest region.
Central Soapers Workshop is hosted by myself and a fab team of volunteers, right here in Kansas City. We start planning in the summer before the event and bury our noses in soapmaking nonsense until March. Our goal is to put together a soap making conference that knocks the socks off everyone in attendance.
CSW 2014: The Prep Party!
We kicked the weekend off with a mini-gathering at Prairie Soap Company on Friday. We stuffed swag bags, prepped prizes, ate pizza, and talked shop in a more one-on-one setting.
Throughout the day, fifteen different Central Soapers Workshop attendees walked through PSC’s doors to give a helping hand. So grateful!
CSW 2014: Game Time!
Saturday morning arrived, and I hit the venue bright and early at 6:30 am to set up. For those of you who know me, I’m usually going to bed at this time. Talk about dedication, right?! 😉 I welcomed our fabulous vendors: SoapEquipment.com, Handcrafted Soap & Cosmetics Guild, Cumberland Acoustic, and Lovin Soap Project.
Majestic Mountain Sage popped in to start setting up the Soap Lab, a unique & original feature of Central Soapers Workshop. Majestic Mountain Sage loads us up with tons of soapmaking ingredients so each attendee can try out new techniques and make soap with one another on site.
The lovely MMS team (Tina, Andee, & Taylor) were there every step of the way to answer questions about MMS products. Plus, they helped each attendee conquer soap making and offered technique/process information.
We had a handful of brand spankin’ new soapmakers in the Soap Lab this year, who whipped up their very first batch of cold process soap. AMAZING.
We handed out awesome swag bags to each attendee that came through the door.
Huge thanks to our awesome sponsors and supporters who believe in the importance soap making conferences and gatherings!
Thank you to Karen Grove for sharing this photo of the loot she snagged!
