Soap Challenges 2013: Leopard Spots Soap, Week Four

Rainbow Leopard Print SoapHere we are! Week Four, the final week of Amy’s Soap Challenges! So far, we have done a tiger stripe, an elemental swirl, a top oil mica swirl, and now we’re on to leopard spots soap!

Leopard print soap is a totally new design technique for me – and almost everyone else it seems! Cee of Oil & Butter first pushed this technique into soap after seeing it done in a cake making video – I love how so many design techniques transfer between cakes and soap!!

Again, the rainbow pops out in my leopard spots soap for this challenge and determining how to incorporate it was a lot of fun brainstorming. Despite being super nervous and even goofing up a bit on making it, I’m delighted with the results.

Oh yes, I made a mistake, want to see how?

Watch the video and find out for yourself, right here:

With the challenges drawing to a close, it means the Full Spectrum collection is almost here! If you watched all the way through the video, you’ll know that the Full Spectrum Gift Collection will be available on Saturday, April 27th at exactly 12:00 pm CST (noon!)

Here’s a short Q&A:

Q: Can I reserve or pre-order a set? Can I pay for one now? I can’t be online when the collection goes live.

A: As much as I want to say yes, I’ve just had way too many requests for these soaps and I don’t think it would be fair. Setting a date and time was the easiest way for me to give everyone a chance. I’m really sorry for that – I did not expect these soaps to be so popular!

Q: Will you make these soaps again?

A: Maybe. I really can’t give a definitive answer – I like doing limited edition soaps because I get to exercise my creativity. These soaps were very labor intensive to make, and my main line of products and it’s development always come first.

Q: Can I get all the dirty details on the set?

A: The Full Spectrum Gift Collection will include all four challenge soaps featured here on the blog and in videos. They are tucked into a 100% recycled cardboard clamshell, nestled in 100% recycled kraft tissue paper. Each set will be delivered inside of a custom printed muslin bag that can be re-used for all sorts of things! The collection will go on sale for $30 + shipping and applicable sales tax (KS residents only) in the Gifts + Accessories as well as the Limited Edition Soaps category.

More new products?!

I hope everyone who really wants to get their hands on this one is able to do so. I will also be trying to get a few other new products up in the shop before then – Essence and Aphrodite are about to make their come back, the remaining Color Swap Soaps are ready, and I have one more touch on the Full Spectrum collection to show you. Plus, soap samples want to meet you!

As a last tidbit, for the soap makers out there, I recently released my first ebook on masterbatching oils and lye solution. I would love for you to check it out! The feedback has been phenomenal, and I’m so glad so many have found it useful!
